My Approach
I believe therapy is deeply collaborative. I tailor my approach to each person I see, and may use a variety of therapies based on the uniqueness of the client and situation.
Finding the right "fit" between therapist and client is very important, as we need to trust and feel safe to be vulnerable. I am open, reflective, and seek input to make sure we’re on the right track. I love getting-to-know people outside of problems and empowering clients to recognize and use their unique strengths to work toward change.
While this is not a comprehensive list, some of the therapies I offer are listed below. Please reach-out with any questions!

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-specific therapy that can help with a wide variety of mental health concerns.
I use EMDR with clients ages 6+
I hold basic EMDR training and advanced training conjoining EMDR with Sand Tray Therapy.

ERP / EXRP
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold-standard treatment for OCD and phobias.
ERP involves imaginal or actual exposure to fears in a gradual and safe way so our body can learn it doesn't need to react so intensely to scary situations.

Narrative Therapy
The founder of Narrative Therapy, Michael White, said it best:
"The person is not the problem; the problem is the problem"
Narrative therapy helps clients use unique strengths and resiliencies to rewrite their stories and open new chapters in life.

CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the idea that our thoughts often dictate how we feel and what we do.
Many of us struggle with intrusive worries and spiraling / racing thoughts. CBT helps to calm the waters so we can think more clearly.

HRT
Habit Reversal Training (HRT) is a treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB) such as Trichotillomania (hair-pulling), Excoriation Disorder (skin-picking), and nail biting. It's also used for Tics.
HRT helps us understand what purpose BFRBs serve, the urges behind them, and how to change them.
